Nylas was founded when co-founder Christine Spang and her MIT classmates realized just how difficult it was to access and use communication data. Email, calendar, and contacts—core components of modern software—were locked behind fragmented providers and brittle integrations.
That challenge became our purpose.
Today, under the leadership of CEO Jeff Koets, Nylas is expanding its original vision into the AI- agentic era—where software doesn’t just store information, it understands context and takes action. In this new world, communication data in all its forms—emails, calendars, contacts, and meetings—has become one of the most critical ingredients for intelligent, automated workflows.

Jeff Koets
CEO
Jeff Koets brings over 20 years of leadership in SaaS, ticketing, and operations. He spent six years as COO of Red61, guiding the company through growth and market challenges, and more than a decade in senior roles at AudienceView across sales, partnerships, and operations. Based in Nova Scotia, Jeff enjoys kayaking, skiing, and time with his wife and two children.
Troy Allen
CTO
Troy Allen is the chief technology officer at Nylas. After serving over a decade in the US Marines, Troy has led the development of SaaS platforms and enterprise web applications for more than 25 years. Troy’s experience building, scaling, and securing systems that sync massive amounts of data, normalize it, and serve it up via an API for companies like Checkr is second-to-none. Leading engineers, however, is his true passion.
John Jung
VP, Engineering
John Jung is VP of Engineering at Nylas. Previous to this role, Jung served as the Co-Founder/Chief Technology Officer at June.ai which was acquired by Nylas. Jung graduated from university at 19, holds over 30+ academic publications, and worked on large-scale projects for both high-growth startups and Fortune 500 companies. As one of the engineering leaders, Jung is all about obsessing over the right problems and building teams that have high psychological safety.
Brent Geddes
CFO
Brent is the Chief Financial Officer at Nylas, where he oversees the company’s financial strategy and operations. With extensive experience driving growth and performance across technology-driven organizations—including senior finance leadership at McKinsey & Company, PriceMetrix, and AudienceView—Brent specializes in scaling SaaS platforms, managing strategic investments, and building robust financial frameworks. Passionate about innovation and sustainability, Brent also serves as a Venture Partner at Climate Innovation Capital, investing in impactful climate-tech businesses. At Nylas, Brent combines strategic insight and operational expertise to support rapid growth, financial excellence, and long-term customer value.

Christine Spang
Co-Founder
Christine Spang is the Co-Founder of Nylas and a member of its Board of Directors. As co-founder and former CEO, she led Nylas’ engineering and technical strategy while scaling its services worldwide. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Christine has been recognized for her work with APIs, software development, and the greater technical community, speaking at major events such as Collision, PyCon, Web Summit, and TechCrunch Disrupt. She actively supports organizations and causes that promote diversity and inclusivity within technology and software development. Christine holds a degree in computer science from MIT.
